some people promise. They claim to introduce knowledge into a mind
which doesn't have it, as if they were introducing sight into eyes which
are blind.'

WILL IT EVER END!
Like Pope Benedict XVI, I was in the Hitler Youth. I served in the German Army in Italy in 1944 and 1945. I would like to recount the events to the best of my memory in the most accurate way. In their retelling I will try not to consciously hide or distort them. In retrospect, they may reflect subsequent reflection, as I was an ignorant youth, in so, so many ways. I have been instructed by a friend to clearly distinguish between re-telling, reflection, and any genuflection where I have come to forgive or to seek forgiveness.
Like the shadows of the large chimneys of the power plant near where I was born, the shadows of the time leading to and within the Second World War have hovered over my subsequent life. Even today, I feel the shadows case, in how others often regard me They often think of me as a Nazi, or war criminal, or worse.
Why is it that even today being a 'German' is always associated with being someone who is 'wicked', 'evil' or identified to be a 'Nazi' Even if you deny saying so yourself, subconsciously the thought is always evident. What triggers this subconscious notion? Has it got to do with the atrocities that globally took place during World War I and II? But have there ever been wars which did not inflict horrific violence against the innocent?
For what reason was Germany made exclusively responsible for the outbreak of the First World War when the events that led to the war were actually far more complex and involved many nations around the world. Germany was drawn into this war because she was committed as an ally. Yet it was established in the Treaty of Versailles that Germany was the only one to be held responsible. Why are Germans always the scapegoat? What makes them so different from nations that annihilated the Mayas and Incas, or nations that exploited and diminished natives and aboriginals?
Right now at this very moment there are dozens of civil wars being fought in countries around the world. Genocide and war crimes are being committed every day. But why are 'Germans' as a nation judged more than all the others?
It might be because of the approximately 58 million casualties that World War II left in its wake. It might be because it was a war that involved many different nations and cultures. One thing all wars have in common though is that they are fought in order to obtain power, be it religious power or just plain supremacy, privilege, greed, and especially wealth. These selfish desires are however always concealed to the population as being for reasons of "political interest, justice, national pride and the safety of the nation." Yet the general population itself is always the one that suffers. However, no war can be fought without a nation supporting a strong leader and his associates. So how do these leaders "manipulate" a nation to fight for a cause? As we all know there are thousands of ways this can be achieved, be it promises for a better life, social stability or even brainwashing. So who is actually to blame for the repercussion of a war? Is it the general population who in their beliefs thought they were fighting for the interest of their nation and the right cause or is it the privileged few who lead a nation into a devastating war?
Why do Germans as a nation (even in today's society) have this aftertaste of being war mongers? Since WWII the vanquishers of Germany have made sure that no war will ever start in Germany again. Like many people in the Western world the Germans have become a nation of pacifists. They have also been completely stripped of their national pride. Many people in the world do not know that today the majority of this nation feels ashamed to be a German citizen. Should you ever travel to Germany today you will never see people flying their nation's flag in their front yard as they do in North America. The educational system in Germany since WWII has taught its pupils that the war was started by the German nation, creating mass destruction, devastation, and atrocities. Some teachers even go so far as to claim that their students' grandfathers, great-grandfathers, and uncles were the ones that started this horrific war. But is it that easy to put all the causes and events in a nutshell and point the finger at the German scapegoat?
Growing up in pre-WWII Germany I experienced how this once-great nation rose and fell and is emotionally still crawling on its knees today.
I have made no secret of my past, yet have been regarded with suspicion, distrust, hostility, and contempt. It is true that, often as a defense, I have been less than perfect in how I approach others. I may have engendered those reaction that I actually thought I was seeking to ameliorate or avoid. Even being grounded in a life of Jungian psychology, vegetarianism, metaphysics, and many years spent working on my "higher self," my relations with the world have been largely bound by what happened to me in my youth, between the ages of ten and twenty. Perhaps our youth traps us as well as it eventually liberates us. Certainly our youth traps us until we find the language, wisdom, and experience to better understand motive, action, and reaction, to say nothing of the underlying karma (cause and effect), or dharma (transcendence and liberation). If one believes in many lives, or one life, we only know the now. For me, that knowing means going back to, and more so, going forward.
I am compelled to have my experiences written, especially from the Second World War, as within them there are many practical examples of what we are as a people, as humans. Often, we try to find a scapegoat, to make one man responsible, so we may be rid of our own responsibility. I am convinced that it is extremely essential for mankind to learn from war, so repetition and tragedy may be avoided.
I am 91 years of age in 2016 and one of the few surviving German witnesses of the Second World War. Everything I reveal in my account is my own personal experience and it contains no fiction whatsoever. My goal is to give evidence of the horrific events that took place during this time and to expose the bitter reality of war. It may not be suitable for everyone. You will learn how everyday human beings with their good morals, beliefs, values, and respectable intentions transform instantaneously in wartime situations, regardless or race, creed, or nationality.
In order to give you an insight into my life's experiences that I have encountered since I was a child in pre-World War II Germany until the present day, I will have to start at the beginning and go back to some historical events that have become a vital part of my life.
But before I start I must warn the reader of my writing! It is not suited for everyone. It is strictly for a searching, open mind because war and peace are antagonists and the truth is not easy to find, like the two interlaced triangles, Solomon's seal, the hidden mystery of life, the struggle between peace and war. Those who can understand all the angles of this symbol have gained the higher knowledge. It is here where confusion exists between humans since we are not alike and therefore cannot see eye-to-eye. On one side we have persons who are virtuous, highly self-controlled, self-educated in philosophy, linguistic, creative, inventive, and eat and drink only what is good for their health. On the other side there are masses of humans who are ignorant, less-experienced, uninterested, and entangled in deadly sins. They eat and drink anything as long as it is cheap regardless of any harm to their health, enjoy being intoxicated,, and indulge as much as they can. A different "reality" exists for those in the gratification of their passions.
This is where I have to warn everyone since every war has "its secrets," and is controlled by a "diplomatic immunity," meaning for all governments involved in war with each other through international trading and financing, it is the law of destiny and can not be changed. Further information can be obtained from the book Trading with the Enemy by Charles Higham.
A quotation from Eliphas Levi, Transcendental Magic.
"The man who is enslaved by his passions or worldly prejudices can be initiated in no wise; he must reform or he will never attain' meanwhile he cannot be an adept, for this word signifies a person who has achieved by will, hard work. The man who loves his opinions and fears to part with them, who suspects new truths, who is unprepared to doubt everything rather than admit anything on chance, should close this book: For him it is useless and dangerous. He will fail to understand it, and it will trouble him, while if he should divine the meaning, there will be a still greater source of disquietude. if you hold by anything in the world more than by reason, truth, and justice; if your will be uncertain and vacillating, either in good or evil; if logic alarms you, or the naked truth make you blush; if you are hurt when accepted errors are assailed; condemn this work straight away. Do not read it; let it cease to exist for you; but at the same time do not cry it down as dangerous. The secrets which it records will be understood by an elect few and will be reserved by those who understand them.
Show light to the birds of the night-time, and you hide their light; it is the light which blends them and them is darker than darkness. It follows that I shall speak clearly and make known everything, with the firm conviction the initiates alone, or those who deserve initiation, will read all and understand in part. There is a true and a false science, a Divine and an Infernal Magic."
I rely on your own judgement in this matter!
Many people do not really know much about Germany besides the Germanic barbarians that dominated this country several thousands of years ago until the rise of the satanic "Nazis." Yet many great inventors, composers, writers, scientists, artists, philosophers, and other academics were actually German and humbly left their legacy in today's civilized world. Many people do not even know that Roman's conquered large parts of Western Germany and brought their highly-developed civilization to the Germanic tribes over 2000 years ago influencing Germany forever.
The Reformation of faith by Martin Luther (1522A.D.) split Germany into a Catholic South and Lutheran North (Protestant). The Thirty Years War (1618-1648) involving the Danes, Swedes, and the French amongst others completed the devastation of Germany. As so many previous wars it was a war fought over political power and religion leaving Germany impoverished and crippled. What was left was a loose confederation of petty principalities under the nominal rule of the Emperor.
The French Revolution (1789-1799) made a severe impact on Germany and Europe. The peasantry was fed up with the privileged nobility monopolizing political powers and exploiting the impoverished serfs. The peasants were depressed and angered by the continuance of the feudal system and inefficient agricultural methods. Rural riots broke out and spread panic in the countryside. Thousands of privileged aristocrats were butchered and the King was forced to give up feudalism. In the course of the revolution, the bourgeoisie gained political power and land was distributed to the peasantry. The ideals of liberty, equality, and fraternity remained as an inspiration to European liberals in the 19th century.
In the early 18th and 19th century German philosophy (i.e. Immanuel Kant who created transcendental philosophy), literature and music (i.e. Brahms, Beethoven, Haydn) progressed from the French revolution and flourished. This was the age of Germany's enlightenment. Great writers and poets such as Schiller, Goethe, Fichte, Herder, Nietzsche, Lessing, and Moricke became key factors for German Renaissance which created the foundation for cultural and political renewal. The Germans became a nation of intellectual s and philosophers.
The reader should understand that Germany was influenced by many different nations and cultures throughout history. Germany in the course of history has been besieged, divided, pulverized; broken up into 350 states, kingdoms, monastic states, and free cities; and occupied by many different nations. Yet a very high and sophisticated culture evolved in the Middle Ages as result of thousands of years of struggles. Social conficguration created dozens of languages apart from German as well as the hundred of different German dialects.
For many North Americans whose history and culture is only about 200 years old and is main conflicts consisted of battling native Americans, civil war, the struggle for independence and ultimately the two World Wars, their history books are comparatively empty. For the founding fathers it was "relatively simple" to settle in an unspoiled country that was sparsely inhabited and dinot have to struggle with countless different cultural influences, indifferences, or conflicts. I twas very simple fo the immigrants of this country to shape their own culture. Within a short period of time English becamse the national language and the states united. It is admirable that freedom and liberty was created in the Bill of Rights,a nd only took 200 years to be estabilsted. Yet for many European countries, including Germa n, this was always an uphill battle due to tribal raids, cavalry charges, and bloodbaths. It has taken many thousands of years to get to where Europe is today. Germany has never really been able to proudly say "my home is my castle" for too mamny conflicts, wars, migration, cultural manipulations , and polictialtensions have not allowed the population to have a home (homeland).
Throughout Germany's illustrious history there have always been individuals on a quest for mental enhancement. Since the existence of mankind there has always been elevated knowledge, yet for thousands of years it has been hidden within and never been fully applied. In the course of the centuries some humans developed skills to explore and utilize this higher awareness. But not very many were actually interested to learn this higher awareness because it required a transformation of the higher person and for many it was just too much of an effort. Yet the humans that acquired this higher consciousness also realized that it can be very powerful both in a positive and negative way. A number of these people with this ability formed secret societies and brotherhoods (some which have existed for thousands of years) in order to protect this knowledge from being misused. The Illuminati, for instance, is a secret society seeking mystical and enhanced enlightenment. Freemasons are also known for their mysterious rituals and gatherings in search for the higher self. Their knowledge however, is concealed to the non-members. Also one should mention the Theosophical Societies. Johann Wolfgang Goethe was both a member of the order of the Illuminati as well as the Freemason. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gotthold Lessing, and even members of Germany's various Royal families were all Freemasons.
But before I continue I will return to my own experiences and historical events that compelled me to search for a higher self-consciousness.
